The state government of Kerala in India has given an in-principle approval to raise auto-rickshaw, bus and taxi fares due to an increase of INR 5 (US$0.10) per litre in diesel prices.

Madhya Pradesh authorities are to receive US$245.17 million (INR 17.8bn) from India's Union Government to build 1,521 new roads as part of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY). The number of people using French public transport rose by 4.5% during the first 11 months of 2011 compared to the same period of 2010, according to UTP.
