Kenya elevated highway works to start in January 2013

Works on an elevated highway in Kenya are due to begin in January 2013. The initial US$200million cost of the project will be funded by the World Bank. The 12km stretch above the present Waiyaki Way and Mombasa Road-Uhuru Highway is due to be completed in 2015.

  • Kenya’s key construction contract commencing

    Work will commence on the Nairobi-Mombasa expressway in mid-2018. The new highway will help develop Kenya’s economy by providing an improved highway connection between the country’s capital and its premier port. The 473km-long highway connection will be built by Bechtel and has a projected cost of US$3 billion.
