Kazan allocated US$263.14mn road repair budget for 2012

Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin said authorities would allocate US$263.14million to repair the city’s road network in 2012, compared to a total of $197.66million spent over the previous five years.
More than US$260 million will be spent on creating a 157.5km-long link road between Kenya and Tanzania. Of the total with $262.2 million project cost, the African Development Bank (AfDB) has offered a loan of $232.5 million, while the Africa Trade Fund will provide a trade grant of $740,000. The Russian city of Sochi is gaining 260km of roads as part of a US$47.75 billion (RUB 1.5tn) investment in preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
