Kazan allocated US$263.14mn road repair budget for 2012

Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin said authorities would allocate US$263.14million to repair the city’s road network in 2012, compared to a total of $197.66million spent over the previous five years.
A massive budget for highway construction and upgrading is being set in place by the Vietnamese authorities. In all some US$18.73 billion is being set aside for the construction and development of Vietnam's expressway system.
A novel approach to road maintenance is being seen in the central African country of Gabon. Some €2.36 million ($2.71 million) in technical assistance is being funded through the European Union, with work being carried out by an international consortium, which includes Louis Berger. Through this contract Louis Berger will train around 20 Gabon-based small- and medium-sized businesses, providing knowledge and capabilities needed to maintain and monitor the country’s roads long term.

An investment of nearly US$510 million is being planned in Bolivia for road building works. The country’s state-run road company, Administradora Boliviana de Carreteras (ABC), has plans in hand for a total of 32 road maintenance and construction projects in Santa Cruz department. In all these will stretch for some 5,773km. Of this, $291 million will be spent on 276km of new roads, including the Saavedra-Chane and Circunvalacion Mineros, Hardeman-Colonia Pairi and Rio Uruguaito-Santa Rosa de la Roca-San Igna
