JLG’s is showing the 1500SJ
Making their first appearances at a major European construction show are the 340AJ and 1500SJ from aerial work platforms and telescopic material handler manufacturer 2199 JLG.

The JLG 1500SJ is a large self-propelled telescopic boom lift, with a platform height of 45.72m. It requires only a weight permit for transport. The 1500SJ has a four-section telescopic boom plus a two-section telescoping jib.  Its telescopic jib extends up to 7.62m for additional horizontal and vertical reach. The machine’s full horizontal outreach is 24.38m.

Position sensors for length and angle are used give the 1500SJ automatic adjustment of the operating envelope to reduce the ‘saw-tooth’ effect for additional operator comfort.

As with all JLG Ultra Booms, the 1500SJ delivers dual 450kg/230kg capacity and three steering modes.

Systems designed for improved productivity include multifunctional diagnostics and an LCD display, which communicates key information such as fuel levels and possible errors to the operator.

The JLG control ADE system has been developed to optimise power use for increased efficiency and reduced fuel consumption. Other features include a swing-out engine tray for easier maintenance during servicing.

Other models displayed by JLG include the compact 340AJ, a diesel-powered 4WD articulating boom and currently the smallest in the series. The 340AJ has been designed to drive on slopes and up ramps and to cope with tough off-road conditions. The 340AJ has a two-section ladder-type lower boom, coupled with a two-section telescopic upper boom and a 1.22m jib. Its low weight and small stowed dimensions allow three units to be fitted on a 12m trailer.

Its large operator platform and 1.22m jib are designed to offer a large work envelope. The 340AJ has a working height of 12.35m with a horizontal outreach of 6.07m. Like the 1500SJ, the 340AJ is equipped with the JLG ADE control system.

The Kramer Allrad 550 wheel-loader is said to be a machine that constructs above its weight. Despite the machine’s compact design, Kramer claims it offers operators the “full loader performance” of a “big machine”. One of two recently to market Kramer machines for the 0.6m³ class, the 550 is aimed mainly at customers in the construction industry, rental fleets and local authorities.
