JCB is offering a new range of its JS crawler excavators

The new generation JS crawler excavators from JCB are said to deliver increased performance along with reduced running costs. The JS220, JS260 and JS360 are all powered by Isuzu diesels that meet the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements with reduced fuel consumption and increased torque rise. The new generation JS crawler excavators from 255 JCB are said to deliver increased performance along with reduced running costs.

The JS210, JS220, JS260 and JS360 are all powered by 2724 Isuzu diesels that meet the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements with reduced fuel consumption and increased torque rise. For developing markets, there is also a Tier 2 compliant version of the JS220 powered by a JCB 448 Dieselmax engine with a similar output to the 129kW Isuzu diesel in the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB model.

The new JS220 provides an improvement in fuel economy of some 11% over the earlier model for example, with similar gains seen in the other new machines. The hydraulics have been reconfigured and the pump layouts modified to increase both speed and precision, while the valve blocks have also been repositioned to boost efficiency while digging. Heavy duty construction is said to offer increased working life with stronger siderails on the upperstructure for example, as well as a ROPS compliant cab to help boost safety. Additional protection is available for machines in tough applications such as demolition while another safety feature is the optional rear view camera.

    Hatz Diesel will take the wraps off a new engine family at Bauma, with the launch of the H series, a 2.0–litre water-cooled engine family that features Bosch common rail fuel injection with pressures up to 1,800 bar. Producing 56kW (75hp) and 130Nm of torque, the engine meets European Stage IIIB emissions regulations and US Tier 4 Final standards. The engine, a first at this size for the company with liquid-cooling, uses exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) but does without
