Japanese loan to upgrade Cambodian highway

Cambodia’s National Road 5 is to be upgraded thanks to a concession loan provided by Japan. Worth some US$90.5 million this sum will be used to improve an 83.5km stretch of the route between Battambang and Sri Sophorn. The work on National Road 5 will start in June 2015 and is expected to be complete by May 2018. Once complete the upgraded section of road will offer both safety and capacity improvements over the existing link.

    Argentina’s Government has plans to upgrade Route 5, Route 7 and Route 8 into highways. The work will cost US$647.2 million and the first sections are already being completed.     A series of major highway projects are now being planned in the Philippines. The largest of this most recent set of highway projects to be announced is for the US$1.24 billion NLEx-Cavitex Port Expressway Link put forward. Measuring 15km the route would be constructed featuring four lanes. This proposed link would connect the Cavite Expressway and North Luzon Expressway in Metro Manila. The proposal for the project has been made by Manila North Tollways, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments.
