Plans are now in hand for a major new highway project in Italy.

Plans are now in hand for a major new highway project in Italy. A new project for a highway linking capital Rome with the north of the highway is being developed. The project is expected to be worth some €2.5 billion, with some €420 million in funding expected to come from public fiances. The project client will be the Italian public motorway concessionare 1184 ANAS.

The Bangladesh Government is giving its approval for the project and will provide $725.3 million of the financing required from its own budget.

    The tender process has opened for a major highway business in Italy. The sale is for an 80.5% stake in highway operator Autostrade Milano Serravalle-Milano Tangenziali (Milano Serravalle). The deal is expected to be worth more than €1 billion in all. The packages for sale are the 52.9% held by the province of Milan through holding Asam; the 18.6% held by the municipality of Milan, and the 9% held by the municipalities of Lecco, Como and Pavia and the provinces of Como and Pavia.     Plans are in hand for the Malaysian sections of the Pan Borneo Highway project. Local contractor Cahya Mata Sarawak (CMS) plans to take part in the bidding for the Pan Borneo Highway. CMS is bidding for at least one of the 10 work packages being offered. In all the 10 sections of the project will be worth some US%7.42 billion.
