Plans are now in hand for a major new highway project in Italy.

Plans are now in hand for a major new highway project in Italy. A new project for a highway linking capital Rome with the north of the highway is being developed. The project is expected to be worth some €2.5 billion, with some €420 million in funding expected to come from public fiances. The project client will be the Italian public motorway concessionare 1184 ANAS.

    In Argentina a new loan facility for road projects is now being provided by the Banco de Inversion y Comercio Exterior (BICE). The loan facility will be worth US$100 million and will be offered for projects being handled under the PPP model and with distances of 2,500km or more. This is expected to speed up plans for various PPP projects, with some $6 billion for road concessions planned for the next four years. A number other funding sources are being developed but are yet to be finalised.

    Italian consortium Nogara Mare is reportedly the favoured bidder in the contract worth around US$2.52billion for the construction and management of the new Nogara-Mare Adriatico motorway in Italy. The motorway will be over 100km long and link the Autobrennero with coastal areas. Nogara Mare was created by Confederazione delle Autostrade, the company promoting the project, with 23% of its ownership belonging to the Italian group Astaldi.
