IRF's World Congress - full programme available

The full programme for the upcoming International Road Federation (IRF) congress in Portugal is now available. This can be found online using the IRF website. The event is the 16th edition of the IRF World Congress and centres on the theme of ''Sharing the Road'', with the dates running from the 25th to 28th May.

The full programme for the upcoming 713 International Road Federation (IRF) congress in Portugal is now available. This can be found online using the IRF website. The event is the 16th edition of the IRF World Congress and centres on the theme of ‘‘Sharing the Road’’, with the dates running from the 25th to 28th May. More than 1,500 visitors and 150 exhibitors are expected to attend from all over the world, which is being held under the High Patronage of Anibal António, Cavaco Silva, president of the Republic of Portugal. The Portuguese Government is supporting this event, particularly through the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications, which is highly sensitive to road-related issues and has close links with sustainable development.

On the first day of the World Congress, Emanuel Maranha das Neves, president of the Congress, and Ricardo Oliveira, president of the Portuguese Road Centre, will welcome: José Blanco López, Minister of Equipment, Spain; Anne-Marie Leclerc, deputy minister and deputy director of Transport of Quebec, Canada and president of 3141 PIARC; Jamal Saghir, director of Energy, Transport and Water, 2332 World Bank; Abdullah Al Mogbel, vice-minister of Transport, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
