IRF’s global road awards open

The International Road Federation is inviting entries for its Global Road Achievement Awards (GRAA) programme. According to the IRF, this competition is intended to highlight innovative road projects and individuals that raise the profile of roads in worldwide social and economic development. The awards provide an important route for promoting road industry innovation and achievements receive worldwide publicity. The 713 International Road Federation is inviting entries for its Global Road Achievement Awards (GRAA) programme. According to the IRF, this competition is intended to highlight innovative road projects and individuals that raise the profile of roads in worldwide social and economic development. The awards provide an important route for promoting road industry innovation and achievements receive worldwide publicity. Winners will receive a crystal trophy at the 17th IRF World Meeting & Exhibition in Riyadh later this year, IRF Annual Awards Luncheon, recognition online and a project summary in the IRF GRAA Book of Winning Projects. There are several award categories including: design; excellence in project finance & economics; technology, equipment & manufacturing; environmental mitigation; construction methodology; program management. They also include: research; quality management; safety; maintenance management; traffic management & intelligent transportation systems. Entries are judged by an independent panel of expert judges drawn from IRF's academic members and there is no limit to the number of entries an organisation submits. The selection panel is not obligated to select an award recipient for each of the 11 categories however. The panel can also recognise submissions that do not win an award, yet show merit.
