The IRF reports strong interest already in the 2775 Brazilian Congress on Highways and Concessions (CBR&C). This is the seventh CBR&C event and has been organised by the 2776 Association of Brazilian Road Concessionaires (ABCR), with aid this year from the International Road Federation (2462 IRF) to produce a larger, broader and more global technical programme.

The event will focus on the needs of the fast-growing Brazilian highway market, while also appealing to South American, European, and North American audiences with an interest in the latest in pavements, asset management, intelligent transport systems (3278 ITS) and safety applied to highways and concessions. The event consists of a three-day executive and technical session program, supported by a large exhibition and two additional days of certified training. The technical program is being held with support from the 2791 Inter-American Development Bank and The World Bank's Global Road Safety Facility, and will feature Brazilian public and private sector decision makers, and international experts.

This event is expected to surpass the previous 2009 edition, which attracted 650 delegates and one of the largest industry exhibit floors in all of South America. This year, ABCR will bring together 53 Highway Concessionaires who operate Brazil's major inter-state highways. According to the organsiers, BRASVIAS is the most important international exhibition of road equipment in Brazil and the booth space will be larger than for the 2009 event. IRF's participation in this event is said to boost the dimension and depth of expertise from both developed and emerging countries. IRF's program (IRF Brazil Conference) will be embedded into the overall congress on the third day of the event (October 26th) and will consist of executive and technical sessions on asset management, pavements, ITS, safety and IRF Global Road Achievement Award Projects featuring top global experts in their fields.

The last two days of the event will be set aside for four IRF Certified Training Courses and Workshops (October 27th and 28th). IRF will develop the agendas and curricula for each course to maximise the relevance to the Brazilian and larger South American markets.
