Investments in Ukraine road construction to total US$2.21bn in 2013

Around US$2.21 billion (UAH 18bn) will be invested in road construction and repairs in Ukraine in 2013. According to infrastructure minister Vladimir Kozak, intentional financial institutions will account for around $362.49 million (UAH 3bn) of the total investments. The rest of funds will be raised under state guarantees. The most significant individual project sum of $108.74 million (UAH 900mn) will be allocated to building a bridge in Zaporozhye. The first stage will be launched in 2014.

Around US$2.21 billion (UAH 18bn) will be invested in road construction and repairs in Ukraine in 2013. According to infrastructure minister Vladimir Kozak, intentional financial institutions will account for around $362.49 million (UAH 3bn) of the total investments.     The 5km Legacy Way underground road tunnel in Brisbane, Australia will cost US$1.57 billion (AUD 1.50bn). Brisbane City Council (BCC) will borrow US$ 1.04 billion (AUD 1bn) from the Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC) on a 30-year loan to help fund the works. Meanwhile the federal government will contribute US$520.92 million (AUD 500mn) to the project. The tunnel is expected to carry 24,000 cars a day when it opens in 2015. The Clem 7 and Airport Link are two tunnels already operating in Brisbane.

    The Chinese city of Kunming has increased spending on transport by 28.86% to almost US$1.8 billion (CNY 10.99 billion) in the first half of 2013, compared to the same period of 2012.
