The INTERMAT Paris 2015 inauguration included tours of key manufacturers’ booths and a reminder of the importance of the construction industry to France – and the world.

The show was officially kicked off Tuesday in the 364 Wirtgen Group booth. Cutting the ribbon to launch the show were Pierre Gattaz, president of MEDEF; Bruno Cavagne, president of the National Federation of Public Works; and Maryvonne Lanoë, director of the exhibition.

The group traveled from the Wirtgen booth, to 217 Fayat, and then to 695 DOOSAN. Gattaz took a ride on an aerial lift during a stop at the 712 Haulotte Group. The leaders then moved along to 2441 Mecalac, 1259 Putzmeister France, 718 Liebherr-France, 7659 Volvo Construction Equipment and 2300 Komatsu.

The festivities concluded with the presentation of a trophy recognising Cavagne’s commitment to the construction industry. Cavagne also used the occasion to talk about the importance of the construction industry on many economic levels, including employment.
