INTERMAT launch for updated D6N

Caterpillar has given its D6N fine grading and muck-shifting dozer an EU Stage IIIb emissions-compliant engine for 2012. The 129kW C6.6 Acert engine now gets a DOC and DPF with passive regeneration, helping the machine to a 2% productivity boost primarily from sharper throttle response. There is also a selectable economy mode – linked to 2nd gear – that automatically shifts the dozer into 3rd gear when reversing, and simultaneously reduces engine revs from 2000 to 1700rpm. This system can give fuel saving

D6N gets host of improvements
178 Caterpillar has given its D6N fine grading and muck-shifting dozer an EU Stage IIIb emissions-compliant engine for 2012.

There is also a selectable economy mode – linked to 2nd gear – that automatically shifts the dozer into 3rd gear when reversing, and simultaneously reduces engine revs from 2000 to 1700rpm. This system can give fuel savings of up to 25%, said Cat.

The previous generation’s cast blade tower has been replaced by a fabricated and welded steel structure, enabling a ball-socket coupling – similar to that found on the D6T.

Idromeccanica Ramtec brought two models from its expanded hammer range to INTERMAT. Models such as the RT 1600 and RT 590 brought to the show have additional features but also retain proven aspects of the earlier models, which remain available. Changes in the latest models include improved noise levels and compatibility with a larger range of excavators. The latest models also absorb vibrations at the arm of the excavator to a greater degree than in the past.
  • Recirculation reduces the need for secondary crushing
    January 6, 2017
McCloskey International has added the option of a recirculating conveyor and screen box to its I44 impact bar mobile crusher, creating the I44R. After the material passes through the crusher, anything over a nominal 20mm is recirculated back into the crusher to be reduced further. This removes the need for a secondary crusher or screen, saving money for the operator and cutting the number of machines on site. McCloskey will also offer a recirculating screen box on its C38 cone crusher, to be called the C38

Caterpillar has updated its hybrid crawler excavator, with the launch of the 336F H, incorporating Tier 4 Final power. The company claims that fuel savings of up to 30% are possible against the standard 336F excavator, despite the C9.3 engine achieving lower fuel consumption than the previous model. The engine has an automatic speed control system that lowers rpm during low load conditions. It also comes with an ECO mode that allows operators to tailor machine performance to the application.
