A new range of reflectorless total stations has been developed by 342 Topcon. Called the ES series, the new models also feature TSshield – a Topcon Group innovation using a multi-function telematics-based communication module that locates the instrument. The ES package also gets the longest single-charge battery life in the industry – 36 hours – making it possible to work five full days without recharging.
Dominating Hidromek’s stand at INTERMAT is its 30.5tonne HMK300LC excavator. In common with the other gen series excavators, the HMK300LC has Hidromek’s latest cab design, which offers more room for the operator and the “Opera” user interface designed to optimise the excavator’s force, speed and consumption.
Opposite in the size scale to Merlo’s other Intermat 2012 machines, the ‘Grand Roto’ 60.24 MCSS and the 40.30MCSS, is the tiny P25.6 SuperCompact telehandler. Only 1,800mm wide, the P25.6 is said to fit into the smallest of site applications. Although being small aids manoeuvrability, Merlo says this has not led to a compromise on cab comfort. Liebherr has developed the LTM1750-9.1, a nine-axle all-terrain crane with a maximum lift capacity of 750 tonnes. The 52m telescopic boom machine is carried by the machine and offers a 154m maximum lift height, with a maximum working radius of 112m. A luffing fly jib can be added in 3.5m increments to take maximum lift height to 91m. Weighing in at 108 tonnes in transport configuration, the LTM puts down 12 tonnes per axle.
