A new range of reflectorless total stations has been developed by 342 Topcon. Called the ES series, the new models also feature TSshield – a Topcon Group innovation using a multi-function telematics-based communication module that locates the instrument. The ES package also gets the longest single-charge battery life in the industry – 36 hours – making it possible to work five full days without recharging.
Materials testing firm Matest has launched an asphalt splitter at bauma. The machine breaks up asphalt specimens so that the constituent parts can be tested, a task that is often carried out by hand. “The purpose of the machine is to make the operator’s life easier,” said area manager Massiono Martorini. The splitter should also lead to greater efficiency, as breaking specimens down will take less time, and allow laboratory technicians to do other things. New Holland Construction (NHC) is unveiling at bauma the new low profile cab and FleetForce telematics system in its F Series graders which, the Italian company claims, are the best-selling graders in Europe. The new cab reduces the grader’s maximum height by 180mm, taking it down to just 3.06m. This is said to remove all transport limitations for both F106.7 and F156.7 models, whether they are fitted with 50.8cm or 63.5cm tyres.
