Using a combination of hydrostatic and mechanical drives, the technologically advanced three-range transmission can offer up a fuel saving of up to 20% by delivering a stepless speed range from 0-40km/hr without clutches and without interrupting the drive.
Cleverly, the HVT R3 will allow the operator to preset a maximum travel speed, or preselect a fixed engine rpm and use the transmission’s characteristics to keep the engine working at its most fuel-efficient point.
Additions to Cat’s mini excavator range at INTERMAT include the 301.7D and 302.4D. With operating weights of 1.8 and 2.4tonnes respectively, the two new machines will replace the UK-built 301.8C and 302.5C later this year, when they go into production. Key features include expandable track frames, standard and long stick options, stand and extended blade frames, plus canopy and full cab versions – the latter uses a single, left-hand door design. JCB has completed its 17-model, US-built second generation skid steer and compact tracked loader line. The firm has added the 175, 190 and 205 model skid steers and the 190T and 205T CTLs to the range, all of which are vertical-lift-arm models powered by a 44.7kW engine. JCB now has a machine to cover 97% of the global skid steer market, which accounts for more than 70,000 loaders a year.
