Using a combination of hydrostatic and mechanical drives, the technologically advanced three-range transmission can offer up a fuel saving of up to 20% by delivering a stepless speed range from 0-40km/hr without clutches and without interrupting the drive.
Cleverly, the HVT R3 will allow the operator to preset a maximum travel speed, or preselect a fixed engine rpm and use the transmission’s characteristics to keep the engine working at its most fuel-efficient point.
Chinese construction equipment firm Sany is buying Putzmeister, the German manufacturer of concrete pumps. The terms of the deal have not been revealed officially but the acquisition is said to be worth €360-500 million according to various reports.
Wacker Neuson has added two compact telescopic handlers to its range – the TH412 and the TH625. The machines offer maximum heights of 4.31m and 5.73m respectively, with lift capacities of 1.2tonnes and 2.5tonnes. Ultra Plant International (UPI) has finalised a new French dealership agreement with Terre Pro during INTERMAT. The company, which manufactures trommel screeners for recycling applications, is excited about its commercial opportunities in France. “We focus on the small and medium level business user,” said firm sales and marketing manager Michael McMenamin.
