Using a combination of hydrostatic and mechanical drives, the technologically advanced three-range transmission can offer up a fuel saving of up to 20% by delivering a stepless speed range from 0-40km/hr without clutches and without interrupting the drive.
Cleverly, the HVT R3 will allow the operator to preset a maximum travel speed, or preselect a fixed engine rpm and use the transmission’s characteristics to keep the engine working at its most fuel-efficient point.
Ascorel’s latest weighing systems for equipment such as wheeled loaders are now available with new temperature sensors for improved accuracy and quicker results when operating in extreme conditions.
The latest wheeled loader from Terex – the TL120 – not only features a 16% more powerful 74.4kW Stage IIIB-compliant Deutz engine, but uses the Terex Smart Control operating system to increase fuel efficiency.
The 7.1tonne machine uses a menu system similar to that found on a smartphone to configure the machine for specific applications.

Deutz used bauma to show two hybrid projects it is currently working on, including a hybrid drive for excavators and an innovative start/stop system for compact wheeled loaders. The hybrid drive is based on using a 160kW Deutz TCD 6.1 L6 engine with an integrated motor-generator. The engine is linked to an on-board electrical power network that uses super capacitors, a power inverter and an electric slew motor, allowing components to harvest, store and use electrical energy, specifically for slewing functio
