Bobcat’s sonic tracer uses Trimble components
1130 Bobcat has launched a sonic tracer system for use with its two largest 244cm and 274cm heavy duty grader attachments.

The system uses 2122 Trimble components, including a sonic tracer, two slope sensors and one rotation sensor, which communicate directly with Bobcat’s Attachments Control Device (ACD). To be fully operational, the Bobcat loader must be equipped with the Deluxe control panel.

The tracer emits ultra sonic signals to maintain a set distance or elevation from an object, surface or the ground. Installed on the grader’s blade, the tracer allows these attachments to grade, level, and backfill on a multiple slope terrain when following a string line, kerbstone, the gutter or even a previous pass as a grade control.

Grade accuracy, said Bobcat, is 6.4mm, and the detection range of the sonic tracer is from 200-1,300mm.

Large grader attachments and the sonic tracer system is compatible with the Bobcat A770 all-wheel-steer loader, S770 and S850 skid-steers, and T650, T770 and T870 compact tracked loaders.

Allu has added three new models to its range of screening buckets. The Allu DL series has been designed for excavators between 4 and 12tonnes and loaders between 2 and 8tonnes. The design of the DL series bucket’s top screen ensures that it won’t clog, even with wet materials, according to the manufacturer. The screening blades and top screens can be changed to vary the size of the end product, which is dependent on the spacing between the combs.

The BSC 1409 D from Putzmeister is a self-propelled concrete pump designed specifically for concreting drilled piles on unfinished surfaces. In contrast to using truck-mounted concrete pumps for concreting drilled piles, it does not need supports to be set up each time it changes location. Compared to concreting with a delivery pipe, placement speed with the tracked concrete pump is now said to be considerably higher.
