Indonesia bridge plan study

A two-year US$150million feasibility study has begun into plans to build a 33km bridge in Indonesia. Project planner Wiratman & Associates will co-operate with Streto di Messina of Italy during the study of the US$291.2million Sunda Strait bridge project, managed and funded by the Banten-Lampung consortium and Bangungraha Sejahtera Mulia.

    A consortium in Indonesia is being established to push ahead with the US$16.7 billion Sunda Straits Bridge project. Organisational input for the consortium is coming from Indonesia's Public Work Ministry and the group will comprise private investors, state-owned companies and regional government-owned companies in Lampung and Banten provinces.     A feasibility study worth US$199 million will be carried out for the planned Sunda Straits Bridge in Indonesia. The bridge itself is expected to cost close to $20 billion to construct.
