The country’s road crash rate increased 4% over the last three years, according to the Road Transport and Highways Ministry. India has around 400,000 road crashes/ year while around 150,000 people are killed on the country’s roads. The country’s road crash rate increased 4% over the last three years, according to the Road Transport and Highways Ministry. India has around 400,000 road crashes/ year while around 150,000 people are killed on the country’s roads. The problem is worsening as India’s vehicle population is also growing, increasing in size by 22% over the last three years. The news is a cause for concern and contradicts some previous reports suggesting India’s road crash rate has reduced.

    The authorities in the UAE have released data showing that over the past 15 years, at least 224 people were killed in crashes involving mini-vans, buses and trucks on the country’s roads.
