Hyundai’s new R25Z-9A fills the mini excavator gap

The new R25Z-9A mini excavator from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HI) being showcased at bauma is said to fill a big gap in the company’s range between models R16-9 and R27Z-9 in the 2.6tonne class of mini crawler excavators. The latest mini excavator model has a Mitsubishi Tier 4 engine and Z rating. Hyundai’s R25Z-9A mini excavator is said to fill a big gap in the company 2.6tonne class of mini crawler excavators
The new R25Z-9A mini excavator from 236 Hyundai Heavy Industries (HI) being showcased at 688 Bauma is said to fill a big gap in the company’s range between models R16-9 and R27Z-9 in the 2.6tonne class of mini crawler excavators.

The latest mini excavator model has a 3055 Mitsubishi Tier 4 engine and Z rating. The Z stands for Zero-Turn-Radius, which means that the machine can turn within its own contours and so can work in extremely confined spaces and be fitted with buckets with a capacity of up to 0.07m³.

This R25Z-9A is being made available on the European market with a glass ROPS/FOPS cab, which has a spring-loaded seat, foldable pedals, sensitive joystick and storage space to enhance operator comfort.

Hyundai HI says it has made sure its new mini excavator has good soundproofing: the noise level for the operator inside the closed cab is only 82dB(A), and just 94dB(A) outside. The model is also said to have easy access for maintenance. All doors, flaps and hoods can be fully opened, and all service points are located in the same area for effective daily checks.

The R25Z-9A has been fitted with a long life plastic air filter for easier maintenance. The long service life of the model’s hydraulic filters (1,000 hours) and hydraulic oil (5,000 hours) are said to reduce operating costs, and lubrication intervals have been increased from 50 to 250 operating hours thanks to the use of self-lubricating bushings.

A maximum excavation depth of 2.42m and its boom length of 4.48m is said by Hyundai HI to make the R25Z-9A top of its excavator class. As with all the company’s mini excavators, the R25Z-9A has two driving speeds (2.5/4.5 km/h), so it can be used more slowly in a delicate work environment or be driven at higher speed to the work site.

The new excavator is 4.03m long, 2.5m high and 1.5m wide. It comes standard with 25cm rubber tracks for particularly low ground pressure and with blade. It has a wide range of optional attachments for use in construction, excavation, and landscaping work.

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) (HCME) says its new ZW250-5 wheeled loader being unveiled at bauma is the result of feedback from European customers. The model’s cab is said to be more spacious than models from the previous range, because the heated air-suspension seat can slide further back, providing more leg room. The tilting telescopic pop-up steering column has also been repositioned to create additional space. An air conditioning system has been installed that regulates the temperature inside
