Huge road project for Russia

A major highway project is planned for Russia’s Krasnodar Region, part of a series of road works for the area. The state-owned firm Avtodor intends to invest US$767.45 million on developing the M4 Don highway in the Krasnodar Region by 2014. Toll roads will extend for some 766km out of the 1,564km of road development works planned for the Krasnodar Region.

    Regional roads in Russia look set for a revamp during 2015. Some US$6.64 billion will be spent on Russia’s regional roads, according to the Rador association. This compares against the $5.8 billion spent on repairs and revamping of Russia’s regional roads in 2014.   • Controversial Russian bridge opens

    The first stage of a controversial Russian bridge project is now complete, with the link having been opened to use by cars and buses. The Kerch Strait bridge spans the Black Sea, connecting Russia’s Taman Peninsula in Krasnodar with Crimea, the latter having been controversially annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014.
