The tender process for the north section of the Sao Paulo ring-road in Brazil looks likely to open in June 2011. The Rodoanel highway will be built over a four year period and is expected to cost US$2.68 billion to construct. Federal funding will be provided that will fund a third of the project, with the rest of the funding coming from state sources. The west and south sections are finished and the east section is being built by private investors. Once this final section is completed, Rodoanel will be the world's largest ring road.
