HSC is launching its new SCX1500A-3 hydraulic crawler crane in Europe at bauma
7144 Hitachi Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Crane Company (HSC) says its new 150tonne capacity SCX1500A-3 hydraulic crane, being unveiled at bauma, has features to enhance its sustainability, mobility, performance and safety.

Said to be suitable for construction, material handling and civil engineering applications, the SCX1500A-3 has been manufactured to comply with Stage IIIB emission regulations.

Equipped with a powerful new-generation 210kW 2724 Isuzu engine, the sustainability of the 150tonne x4.5m lifting capacity crane is enhanced by an auto idle stop function, said to prevent fuel wastage, while also reducing exhaust emissions and CO2. The winch of the crane has a new environmentally friendly design, which contributes to its economical operation.

The mobility of the new crawler crane has been enhanced in varied ways. The transport width of the SCX1500A-3 is now 2.99m, said to allow for easy and cost-efficient transit. The swing cab design has been adapted to increase the boom foot width to ensure the crane’s reliable operation and what is claimed to be its excellent mobility. Additionally, the assembly and disassembly time of the crane has been reduced by the use of a live mast, quick draw and self-removing counterweight.

Due to its new powerful winch design, the SCX1500A-3 is said to be able to make light work of heavy lifting tasks on any job site. The new winch system has been improved with a 12tonne-rated line pull and new brake system. HSC says the boom width has also been enlarged to ensure a more reliable operation.

An alarm warning system, an auto-drum lock, the installation of a swing limitation device and brake pedal, and folding handrails are among the safety features of the SCX1500A-3 crane.

The new HSC model has a front/rear drum rope line speed of 110m/min; a boom hoist drum rope line speed of 44m/min; and a boom length of 15-75m.

Sennebogen’s new 655 HD heavy-duty cycle crawler crane is one of several innovations on the company’s stand at Bauma. Designed for heavy-duty tasks on construction sites and in the extractive industry, the 655 D can be used with a dragline bucket or in foundation construction. The 55tonne capacity machine can be used with a 3.5m3 Hendrix dragline bucket, for instance, and it uses two 16tonne winches driven by high-pressure regulated variable displacement hydraulic motors. There is a continuously-variable fr
