7121 Hexagon continues to develop its software portfolio with the acquisition of Listech, which will compliment its array of construction solutions and particularly those of its 265 Leica Geosystems subsidiary. 7122 Listech offers software solutions that aid with data processing and help streamline workflows in land management, construction and engineering projects. The LISCAD portfolio offers a comprehensive set of modules that interface with all major surveying, engineering and CAD systems. The array gives on-site personnel access to sophisticated tools for use in real-time surveying and stakeout. This technology can help optimise measuring, mapping, and recording the physical environment, while reducing the risk of mistakes. The company claims it provides an important tool that ensures proven practices can be combined with high-tech capabilities in an array of applications from road construction to land surveying services.
Liebherr has added a second model to its articulated hauler range with the TA240. The 40 tonne capacity truck has a 27m3 body and a 6x6 driveline. Power comes from a 16.2 litre Stage IIIB Liebherr V8 diesel engine delivering 350kW (476hp). This enables the truck to reach maximum speeds of up to 57km/h. Aimed at special earthmoving and drainage applications, the excavators carry LR branding and have ground level reach of 15.06, 18.19 and 16.6m respectively. Load over heights range from 10.85m with the HMK220LC LR to 12.59 with the HMK300LC LR. The long-reach HMK220LC delivers 7,300kgf of bucket digging force with a 0.45m3 bucket, with the figures rising to 1m3 and 11,400kgf with the HMK370LC LR.

Manitowoc Crane Care is expanding its EnCORE dealer programme. Danish company UN Mobilkraner, which has worked with Manitowoc since 1994, now offers certified repair and refurbishment services for Grove mobile cranes in Scandinavia, under the Manitowoc Crane Care brand. To qualify for the program, dealers must invest considerable time in training technical staff, including advanced training for welders to earn the correct certifications for welding structural components on cranes.
