HCME says its new ZX140W-5 wheeled excavator is efficient and easy to operate
In terms of productivity, comfort and safety, and easy maintenance, 233 Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) (HCME) says its ZX140W-5 wheeled excavator being showcased at 688 Bauma delivers on every level.

Described as an efficient performer on any job site, the ZX140W-5’s powerful new-generation 90.2kW 2724 Isuzu Stage IIIB-compliant engine is said to deliver higher productivity than the previous Zaxis-3 model with greater fuel efficiency. The HIOS III hydraulic system contributes to less fuel consumption. The machine’s lifting capacity has also increased, extending its capability for moving heavy loads. This is said by HCME to be further enhanced by the auto power boost function.

The spacious cab of the new ZX140W-5 has been designed to enable the operator to work comfortably and safely on the busiest of construction sites. The right side of the machine has been redesigned, including a reshaped front cover, said to allow for better visibility from the cab. The redesigned monitor fits neatly within the right-hand pillar, further enhancing the view through the front window. The new rear-view camera provides a broader range of visibility, so operators can see immediately below the counterweight.

Like all Zaxis-5 machines the ZX140W-5, which has an operating weight between 14.7-16.6tonnes, has been built with a range of easy maintenance features to optimise availability. These include a multi-function LCD monitor, which displays a wide range of useful technical information, such as machine status and settings. Daily checks can also be carried out quickly and easily from ground level.

The ZX140W-5 has a maximum digging reach of 8.41m, a maximum digging depth of 5.03m, and a bucket digging force of 104kN.
