HCC scoops key India road build deal

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded a US$151.70million contract to HCC Concessions to expand the NH-8's Vadodara-Surat section into six lanes. The contract, for a 12-year concession period, includes 30 months to construct the new six-lane section. The toll-based project also includes the development of an extra-dosed bridge with four lanes across Gujarat's Narmada River.

The 292 National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded a US$151.70million contract to HCC Concessions to expand the NH-8's Vadodara-Surat section into six lanes.

The contract, for a 12-year concession period, includes 30 months to construct the new six-lane section. The toll-based project also includes the development of an extra-dosed bridge with four lanes across Gujarat's Narmada River.

    A new 8.76km expressway is being planned in Haryana, in India. This project will be built by Indian firm L&T. The project is costing US$161 million. The work will be carried out under the engineering, construction and procurement model and was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).     A highway widening project will be carried out on the route connecting Mumbai with Vadodara in India. A 23.4km stretch of the highway will be widened so that it features four lanes in either direction. A finance package worth US$ 132.5 million has been secured to help carry out the project and the work will be handled by IRB Infrastructure Developers (IRB Infra). In addition the National Highway Authority of India will also contribute to the project.
