712 Haulotte Group (HG) will be unveiling a prototype of its new rough-terrain telescopic boom - the HT23RTJ – at INTERMAT 2012.

The aerial work platform is said by the firm to have been designed in collaboration with a panel of customers, to ensure the machine meets the needs of a range of industries working at heights of up to 23m.

Said by HG to be ideal for construction, shipbuilding, chemical, petrochemical, and aviation-based applications, the HTR23RTJ is also billed as demonstrating “unsurpassed” performance.

The innovative telescopic boom has what HG says is an unmatched platform height of 22.4metres, and its horizontal outreach of 18.1metres is said by the company to be between 80cm and 1metre higher than industry standards. The HTR23RTJ also has a telescopic jib of 2.2metres; dual load system for a lifting capacity up to 450kg; and what is described by HG as an “incomparable” lifting speed of 53 seconds to full height.

HG also claims its new telescopic boom has the best turning radius of its class with 4 wheel steer and drive making it easy to operate.

The HT23RTJ is said to be the first machine to have the new Haulotte fully modular basket, which is described as being easy and cost effective to repair.

The new telescopic boom will be available from October 2012 in Europe and North America. It complies with working regulations EN280, ANSI, CSA, and AS.
