Growth opf Moscow's highway network

Russia’s capital Moscow will see its highway network grow by 40km in the 2010-2015 period. In addition, 10km of roads will be entirely rebuilt. The city’s road building programme for 2010 is expected to cost in the order of €935 million, roughly a third of what was spent in 2008.

    Regional roads in Russia look set for a revamp during 2015. Some US$6.64 billion will be spent on Russia’s regional roads, according to the Rador association. This compares against the $5.8 billion spent on repairs and revamping of Russia’s regional roads in 2014.     In Russia’s capital Moscow, a key viaduct is now open to traffic, which will help reduce the city’s chronic congestion problem. The viaduct is 820m long by 15m wide and carries traffic over the Dmitrovskoe Highway. The work on the viaduct included repairing a 367m long stretch as well as installing noise attenuation barriers along its sides.
