Goldhofer’s XLE 6 compact system and THP/SL range of heavy-duty modules are said to be highly flexible for client construction equipment transport needs.
Making their debut at INTERMAT, German firm 1449 Goldhofer will be presenting its range of THP/SL heavy-duty modules as well as its flexible XLE 6 compact system.

Said by the company to offer a flexible and economical construction-related transport solution, the THP/SL range achieves an optimal ratio between axle loads up to 45tonnes and low unladen weight. The twin-tyre heavy-duty modules are said to be suitable for use off-road thanks to their high axle compensation. The swing axles are equipped with a hydraulic axle compensation system for levelling, and the hydro-mechanical all-wheel force-steering system is designed as a twin-circuit system. The modular system can be coupled either longitudinally or transversely and is said by Goldhofer to be fully compatible with the other THP systems.

With the XLE 6, Goldhofer says it is introducing a genuine multi-use trailer for various types of construction machinery in Paris. The six-axle version enables the XLE to handle heavy-weights with a payload of around 80,000kg. The 950mm wide excavator recess is said to enable the stowage of large excavator arms to lower the transport height of the machine.

A newly developed rear bridge is said to provide an extremely long extension length combined with low net weight and low overall height. The patented Goldhofer extension system is said by the company to allow haulage firms a short overall length for empty travel, and an elongated loading bridge when necessary. Boasting a steering angle of 60° and swing axles of up to 600mm, the XLE 6 is said to offer excellent steering and manoeuvrability. It can be operated with a total combination length of 23metres without a co-driver (German regulations).

"Intermat is one of the world's most important trade shows for the construction industry. As a global player in transport logistics for the heavy-duty sector, we were determined to be there," says Stefan Fuchs, Goldhofer’s chairman.

Caterpillar Paving is introducing its AP1000E and AP1055E pavers, which replaced the earlier D-Series machines. The machines are said to be able to place smooth mats and deliver high-production as well as redirecting fumes away from operators. The AP1000E is a wheeled model while the AP1055E is the tracked version of the same basic machine. Productivity is provided in part through the heavy-duty screed designs offered, with customers able to choose between the AS2302C, AS3301C, AS4251C and AS4252C.
