Indonesian state-owned construction firm Waskita Karya will seek a bank loan of US$338 million for its work on the Pejagan-Pemalang toll project in central Java island. The project is being managed by Pejagan Pemalang Toll Road, a subsidiary of Waskita Karya.
Waskita company secretary Antonius Yulianto Nugroho said the firm has enough cash resources to cover a quarter of its financial commitment on the project and is targeting bank loans to cover the other 75%.

India's Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) has offered to build the 76km, US$1.01 billion Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track road in Nepal under an annuity model, proposing that the government issue a global tender. This model is suitable as investors, including IL&FS and other Indian firms Reliance Infrastructure and Larsen & Toubro, have proved unwilling to undertake the project under a BOOT system. The Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track road will carry an estimated 3,000 vehicles a day.
The governing Liberals in Ontario, Canada say they are willing to commit US$907 million (CAD 1billion) to develop a transport corridor including roads to the ‘Ring of Fire’, believed to hold one of the biggest chromite deposits globally, if the funds are matched by the federal Conservatives. They have asked Prime Minister Stephen Harper to pay for 50% of the $2.03 billion (CAD 2.25 billion) estimated cost of developing project-linked roads and industrial infrastructure.
