The German province of Baden- Württemberg has issued a list of 20 ready to be built federal trunk road projects worth a combined US$1.01billion (€800mn).The first five could be started in 2014 and the next five in 2015 or 2016.
Modest growth in transport construction is predicted in the US in 2017 by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). According to a report by ARTBA chief economist, Dr Alison Premo Black, total transportation construction and related market activity is expected to grow 1.3% in 2017, driven largely by increases in highway and bridge private construction activity supporting residential and commercial developments.

Philippines-based conglomerate Ayala Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, is interested in at least US $ 1.85 billion worth of private-public partnership projects that are to be bid out by the government. The projects are to include the Daang Hari toll road worth US $ 50million which Ayala has already gotten the contract for, said Ayala's managing director and head of corporate strategy John Eric Francia. Malaysia’s Sarawak state government has appointed Opus Consultants, part of UEM Edgenta, as management consultant for the Coastal Road Network and Second Trunk Roads project.
The US$2.65 billion project's first work package was awarded to Opus Consultants. The firm will be working alongside Sarawak Public Works Department in offering overall technical expertise and project management.
Opus will conclude preliminary and detailed designs of 20 work packages, which range from the building of new bridges
