German autobahn project

Construction work is due to commence shortly in Germany on the upgrades to the A8 autobahn in the south of the country.

Construction work is due to commence shortly in Germany on the upgrades to the A8 autobahn in the south of the country. The improvements include widening the autobahn to six lanes between Augsburg-West and Neu-Ulm. The project is being carried out under the public private partnership model and the work is due for completion on 30th September 2015. The 41km long autobahn upgrade is expected to cost in the order of €305 million.

    Construction of a bridge and two new tunnels on Montenegro’s Bar-Boljare highway will go ahead. Permission for the projects was given by the country’s Ministry of Sustainable Development. The work is for the new Zagradje Bridge link as well as the Mrki Krs and Durilovac tunnels, which will be constructed for the 41km highway stretch from Smokovac to Matesevo.     Construction work on Algeria’s planned Hauts-plateaux highway is set to commence at the end of June 2013. The highway will run 1,300km and connect Tébessa with Naâma, with the project being split into three sections.
