Electric power is one reason the Genie boom lift works well indoors.

The new 5047 Genie Z-33/18 electric boom lift is just as comfortable indoors as out.

“It’s small, compact, and can be used outside and inside,” said Philippa Makinson, marketing coordinator for 1222 Terex Aerial Work Platforms.

The horizontal reach of boom lifts is often desired, yet utilising the machines indoors is not possible because of emissions and tyres. The Genie Z-33/18 is electric, eliminating the emissions challenge. It also features solid non-marking or optional multi-surface tyres, making it ideal for use in stores, airports and theatres, among other indoor locations.

“It goes where scissors are usually used, including tight spaces,” said Makinson. Yet it can perform outdoors, too.

The Z-33/18 weighs 3640 kg and offers a ground clearance of 15 cm. It has long working cycles due to a low-consumption AC drive transmission. The machine has the ability to drive at maximum height, and utilises the Genie FastMast boom system that shortens ground-to-top lifting time.
