Next month, some of Europe’s best and brightest in the paving sector will impart their extensive knowledge to attendees at Fliegl Asphalt Days 2025.

From March 12-13, in Mühldorf am Inn, near Munich, Germany, the focus will be on cutting-edge innovation, sustainable practices and advanced technologies in asphalt construction.

The event - at the headquarters of Fliegl Bau and Kommunaltechnik - will be two days of detailed presentations as well as real-life demonstrations, showcasing modern asphalt paving technologies such as Fliegl’s innovative Push-Off technology. A factory tour for attendees will be an exclusive opportunity to see Fliegl's range of construction equipment.

The overall theme of Asphalt Days will be how to reduce road life-cycle costs and implement sustainable development goals. Martin Fliegl, head of research at family firm Fliegl and with 20 years in the sector, will give insights into decarbonisation and what is important to know about Europe’s Green Deal strategy.

A special paving in the fast lane presentation will be given by Hart Consult International which has been involved in the construction of more than 50 race tracks and proving grounds worldwide since 1996, including most of the new Formula 1 tracks.

Meanwhile, presenters from the Technische Universität Braunschweig will explore new methods for asphalt binder characterisation using a dynamic shear rheometer.

Other speakers will be Hanno Albers of Tell Bau, Marko Karovic of Serbian road construction and paving specialist AD Sremput Ruma and Dr. Breixo Gómez Meijide from the European Asphalt Pavement Association - EAPA.

Yet other presenters will come from German material testing company Infratest Prüftechnik, Newton Trailers in the UK, the German Asphalt Association Deutscher Asphaltverband (DAV) as well as Australia’s National Transport Research Organisation and WERWIE, a major German used equipment seller.

So make a date in March to hear some of Europe’s top paving professionals and academics. Registration is now open and there is no fee, with accommodation being provided locally by Fliegl Bau.
