2779 Fayat Group has developed the Tiltex swivelling clamp for sheet pile handling. Specifically designed for excavator-mounted Vibrodrivers, the Tiltex clamp improves the handling of sheet piles and the productivity on piling projects. Using the clamp, operators can grab sheet piles stored on the ground and drive them directly without any other handling operations. Fayat said the clamp is equally as productive when removing sheet piles.
Models brought to bauma by Soilmec included two new multipurpose hydraulic crawler cranes for heavy-duty applications. Among key features of the SC-70 and SC-90 is a design that enables easy transport and set-up on site. The cranes are modular for fast conversion between a range of applications, such as use with a hydraulic or mechanical grab, hydromill, chisel, vibratory driver or clamshell. New Tier 4 engines are available.
The new generation JS crawler excavators from JCB are said to deliver increased performance along with reduced running costs. The JS220, JS260 and JS360 are all powered by Isuzu diesels that meet the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements with reduced fuel consumption and increased torque rise. For developing markets, there is also a Tier 2 compliant version of the JS220 powered by a JCB 448 Dieselmax engine with a similar output to the 129kW Isuzu diesel in the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB model. Zoomlion is set to grow its operations as Helen Huang, general manager for the firm’s construction hoist machinery branch explained. The firm intends capitalise on its purchase of the tower crane technology from German firm Jost. Huang said, “We have a two year licence with Jost. We purchased the whole set of topless tower crane technology. This is arranged as a two year technology transfer, although there may be the option to extend the period.”
