Fall in road crashes for UAE

An improved situation with regard to road safety has been noted in the UAE. The road crash rate for 2014 was 6.2% lower than for 2013. There were 4,806 crashes in 2014, causing 7,487 injuries and 712 deaths. However insurance payouts from crashes rose by 11% to a total of US$1.09 billion for 2014 compared with the previous year.

    Germany recorded an increase in the numbers of traffic fatalities in 2014. Data revealed by the German federal statistical office, Destatis, shows that 3,368 people were killed in crashes on German roads in 2014. Provisional figures show that this was an increase of 29 deaths (0.9% compared) with 2013. In all, however, it was the second-lowest number of people killed in the course of a year since 1950.     Road crashes in Brunei caused more deaths in 2015 compared with 2014. The data from Brunei's Fire and Rescue Department shows that from January to November 2015, there were 15 road deaths compared with 10 fatalities from road crashes in 2014.
