Euro Auctions completes new Leeds facilities in the UK

Euro Auctions revamps Leeds site

214 Euro Auctions reports that its revamped facilities at Leeds in England are nearing completion including a new auction arena and sales ramp.

Other improved areas include new workshops, office and main administration centre and a 2,380m² jet wash bay. When fully finished Euro Auctions says the Leeds facility will be the largest auction site Europe and ready for an event this summer.

Euro Auctions also reports that it has recently been instructed by administrators at Grant Thornton to dispose of the assets from Swansea-based construction contractor Dawnus. The sale on 13 June in Swansea will include around 800 lots.

The multi-million turnover Dawnus employed around 700 staff and delivered various construction, development, commercial management, plant hire and recycling contracts in Wales. It also has operations overseas, notably in South Africa and Sierra Leone.
 
Items of note within the administration disposal sale include a range of excavators plus a myriad of buckets and attachments, powershift telehandlers, various configurations of lorries and crew vehicles, swivel skip dumper trucks, through to tower lighting units, diesel generators, mig welders, fuel bowsers plus a host of other equipment and portable site offices and containers.

    Euro Auctions reports that it had record sales at its three-day auction at its recently expanded Leeds site in the United Kingdom at the end of August. A total of 4,645 lots went under the hammer at the 10.5 hectare site, achieving over €37 million. More than 40% of sales were placed via the internet, a record for internet sales, said Jonnie Keys, general manager of Euro Auctions.
