Estradas de Portugal road authority to receive US$1.05bn from 2013 state budget
Portuguese road authority Estradas de Portugal will receive US$1.05 billion (€781mn) from the state budget in 2013. As part of this, an agreement for a €238 million loan has already been signed with state secretary Maria Luis Albuquerque.

Portuguese road authority 1410 Estradas de Portugal will receive US$1.05 billion (€781mn) from the state budget in 2013. As part of this, an agreement for a €238 million loan has already been signed with state secretary Maria Luis Albuquerque.
A programme of road maintenance and general upgrades will improve road links in Mozambique’s Tete Province. The scheme will see work worth around US$187 million carried out on some 700km of roads by Estradas do Zambeze. The company has a 30 year concession deal for the roads in Tete Province.
Michigan Senate in the US is increasing its 2018 road upgrade budget by US$175 million. This comes in addition to the $600 million already budgeted for road upgrade works. Michigan has already set a road improvement budget for the 2019 fiscal year of $750 million. In addition the state has budgeted for a further $1.2 billion/year for roads in the future. This will be made available in 2021.
The Portuguese road operator Infraestruturas de Portugal is to tender a €13 million contract for refurbishment of the international bridge over the Guadiana river, connecting Vila Real de Santo Antonio in Portugal and Ayamonte in Spain.
The work will take 18 months and the cost will be shared by both countries, a report in Diário Económico said.
Around 80% of the river is in Portugal.

The World Bank and the Indian state of Kerala's Department of Economic Affairs have signed a loan agreement worth US$215.1 million (INR 11.66bn) to finance the second phase of the Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP). In its 2013/2014 budget, Kerala allocated $51.65 million (INR 2.8bn) for the implementation of the second phase of KSTP. In the second phase, about $443.3 million (INR 24.03bn) will be spent to develop 367km of state highways spread over eight corridors built to international standards.
