209 Emulbitume has opened a manufacturing plant in Brazil as it looks to develop its South American market position.

The French firm, which specialises in the design, manufacture and commissioning of bitumen emulsion production units and macerator pumps, said its new production site in Uberaba, western Brazil, will enable it to offer a full range of products to Latin America customers, including units for laboratories and a wide range of production devices.

The new production plant is staffed by five people and is seen by Emulbitume Brazil chief executive, Anne Roy Nobrega, as hugely significant for the company.

“Brazil is at a pivotal moment in the development of its infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for Emulbitume to take forward its world leading technology,” said Nobrega.

In 2011, Emulbitume launched the Atomix E colloidal mill with a capacity of 6,000litres/hour. It is said by the firm to help customers develop small mobile production units, keeping them closer to the job site while, at the same time, reducing transport and energy costs.

With over 35 years of experience in the bitumen emulsion and modified bitumen market, Emulbitume has a presence in more than 65 countries and more than 250 production units running worldwide.
