Signed and sealed: Alex Moss, Paul Allman and Colin Clements celebrate DUO’s appointment as Powerscreen’s distributor in Ghana
2991 Powerscreen has signed 7295 DUO Africa as its first distributor in Ghana.

And, as the ink dried on the contract at bauma, the company unveiled a deal to supply three crushing and screening trains.

DUO Africa will sell equipment into Ghana and support Powerscreen products in the sub-Saharan region. Among its first contracts is to supply two Powerscreen XA400 primary jaw crushers, two 1000 Maxtrak cone crushers and two Chieftain 2100 triple-deck screens to UK-based Hawk Plant for a number of aggregate crushing operations in Sierra Leone.

“Powerscreen continues to strengthen its global distributor network with the signing of DUO Africa in Ghana,” said Colin Clements, international sales director.

“The region has great potential and we’re confident that DUO will be an excellent distributor to deliver growth and support for our customers’ requirements. Powerscreen now has more than 120 distributors across the world who are committed to getting customers the right parts the first time, and providing experienced field engineers should they need them.”
DUO has been an existing Powerscreen distributor in the UK for more than 25 years, and also represents other 1222 Terex product lines including Terex Mineral Processing Systems and Terex Washing Systems.

DUO CEO Alex Moss said, “We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with the Powerscreen brand. Having worked on several washing, crushing and screening projects in Africa in recent years, we have gained considerable experience in this market which, combined with our extensive Powerscreen product knowledge, places us in an excellent position to establish DUO Africa and Powerscreen as progressive, market-leading brands in Ghana and across the West African region.

“Our Ghanaian office and service centre will carry comprehensive stock of Powerscreen spares and will be supported by a team of experienced service engineers who will provide our African customer-base with the same levels of support we offer our UK customers.”

DUO will offer customers financing options through Terex Financial Services, which offers a range of finance and leasing solutions structured to accommodate customers’ cash flow and budgets.

Paul Allman, director-general manager at Hawk Plant said: “We won a contract to manage a number of quarries in Sierra Leone producing aggregates, and crushing equipment was pivotal to the operation. We also required excellent parts and service facilities.”
