Doosan’s powerful new compressor suits duties in extraction markets

Doosan Portable Power is offering its new large 25/280 portable compressor, which meets Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim emission regulations. The 25/280 portable compressor has a free air delivery of 28.3m³/min at a rated operating pressure of 25.1bar. Dual pressure regulation is a standard feature of the 25/280 compressor, allowing it to supply compressed air at operating pressures of both 25.1 or 17.2 bar. Emission compliant, Doosan's powerful 25/280 compressor can be used to power heavy duty drilling equipment
3771 Doosan Portable Power is offering its new large 25/280 portable compressor, which meets Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim emission regulations.

Dual pressure regulation expands the scope of applications for the 25/280 compressor which includes powering a wide range of drilling and boring machines for applications such as quarrying, mining, site investigation, mineral exploration. The 25/280 compressor can also be used for other specialist applications such as abrasive blasting, spray painting and standby and temporary compressed air for industry.

With a length (drawbar up/drawbar down) of 5150/6735 mm, a width of 2123 mm and height of 2553 mm, the 25/280 compressor is 18% smaller than the current 25/330 Stage IIIA model, meeting a customer preference for both compact size and easy serviceability.  New standard features that contribute to the easy serviceability and increased reliability and durability of the new 25/280 compressor are single row core heat exchangers for ease of cleaning; a cool box (blower fan) to reduce component temperatures; a fuel cooler preventing fuel heating at low fuel reservoir levels which reduces fuel efficiency and power; central drains; a Galvanneal sheet metal enclosure for optimal corrosion protection and a new design to minimise entry of rain into the enclosure.

The new 25/280 compressor is powered by the CAT C-13 diesel engine using cooled EGR with the Cat Clean Emission after-treatment system to meet the Stage IIIB regulations. The CAT C-13 engine provides 354kW at 1800 RPM.

  • Liebherr’s HS8300HD crawler uses hybrid drive to reduce fuel consumption
    January 6, 2017
Liebherr has developed a hybrid drive system for its HS8300HD heavy duty cycle crawler crane. The 350 tonne machine generates electrical power from its hydraulic free-fall winches, which offer up to 50 tonnes of line pull. Under this Pactronic system surplus energy is stored in a hydraulic accumulator and regenerated to assist the engine, reducing fuel consumption. This reuse of energy also cuts emissions from the machine.
