Doosan updates short-radius 14tonner

Doosan Construction Equipment has launched a Dash-3 version of its popular reduced-radius 15tonne excavator, the DX140LCR-3. Powered by a Cummins QSB4.5 Stage IIIB-compliant engine, with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF), the machine has 10% more power and 15% more torque than the previous model. Both main boom and dipper arm forces get an 8% boost, while travel speeds are increased to 5.3km/h, resulting in a claimed a 10% increase in productivity.

Doosan 14 tonner adopts Stage IIIB emissions
695 Doosan Construction Equipment has launched a Dash-3 version of its popular reduced-radius 15tonne excavator, the DX140LCR-3.

A 400kg increase in counterweight has allowed Doosan to boost lifting forces too, by 15%, increasing the machine’s versatility.

The excavator has a revised ROPS-certified cab with more internal space and new levers with proportional thumb wheel controls. A colour monitor in the main console allows the operator to access the majority of machine functions, including setting hydraulic pressures and flow rates for varying attachments.

The DX140LCR-3 uses a more robust undercarriage than the previous model, with reinforced track links, springs and sprockets. The boom and dipper have also been strengthened to cope with the increased digging and lifting forces. Maximum digging depth is 5,485mm while maximum forward reach is 8,285mm. The machine will be available for delivery to customers in May.
