Doosan brings new range of large wheeled loaders to INTERMAT

Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment will take the covers off five new wheeled loaders at INTERMAT. The DL300-3, DL350-3, DL420-3, DL450-3 and DL550-3 large wheel loaders – with bucket capacities from 3.0 to 5.5cubic metres - get Scania SCR diesel engines that meet stage IIIB emissions regulations.

Doosan's DL420-3 Large wheeled loader live at INTERMAT
695 Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment will take the covers off five new wheeled loaders at INTERMAT.

The DL300-3, DL350-3, DL420-3, DL450-3 and DL550-3 large wheel loaders – with bucket capacities from 3.0 to 5.5cubic metres - get 759 Scania SCR diesel engines that meet stage IIIB emissions regulations.

The DL300-3 and DL350-3 wheel loaders will use Scania’s nine litre DC09 five-cylinder engine giving a maximum rating of 202kW at 1,800rpm. The larger three models will get Scania’s 13-litre DC13 six-cylinder diesel engine. Maximum power outputs are 264, 264 and 283kW respectively, all at a leisurely 1,800rpm.

All models get a new five-speed ZF transmission with closer ratios, which prevent a high variation in engine speed with every gear change.

Models also get a torque-converter-cut-off (TCCO) system, which provides a direct mechanical connection between the engine and transmission.
This torque converter lock-up works from gears 2-5, and has the potential to deliver increased traction with lower fuel consumption.

The new 13.6tonne Caterpillar 312E small crawler excavator replaces the 312D, while the new 16.7tonne 316E takes over from the 315D. Both machines feature what are said to be highly efficient Cat engines to EU Stage IIIB emissions standard, while providing fuel savings of 8% and 9% respectively.

  • ZF looks to combine hybrid module with cPower CVT transmission
    January 6, 2017
ZF used bauma 2013 to show the next stage of development for its cPower continuously variable transmission (CVT). By combining the transmission with a hybrid module, ZF said greater operating efficiencies were available from the integration of start/stop technology and energy recovery from regenerative braking. Potentially, the hybrid drive system has the ability to boost fuel efficiency by up to 25% in addition to the 20% higher operating efficiency already offered by the cPower transmission, said ZF.
