Design for Russian ring road

Design work is underway for the first section of the St Petersburg ring road in Russia, and work will be carried out from Gorskaya to Primorskoe in 2013 at a cost of some US$373million. The 24km road will be widened to six lanes and the road structure will be revamped with completion scheduled for 2015.

The deal is worth some US$183 million and will run until mid-2018 and the ring road (KAD) has been maintained by PO RosDorStroy since construction commenced. The deal was awarded by the Directorate of St Petersburg Transport Bypass Construction (DSTO).

The country's master plan for road infrastructure envisages work to a total of 4,200km of main roads across the country. This programme is expected to cost in the order of US$5.20 billion, according to pre-feasibility studies carried out by Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC). Funding is being sought at present by the Nicaraguan Government, which is in discussion with a number of bodies.
