Construction starts on Yichang section of China’s Yichang-Yueyang expressway

Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
Work is underway on the second phase of a new highway in China. The route connects Xihua and Zhoukou with Zhengzhou Airport. The new highway is due for completion in 2017 and will be 45km long, with a maximum speed limit of 120km/h. The six lane highway is costing US$805 million to construct.
Financing is being secured for the project to build the third section of Moscow’s ring road. A loan worth around US$642 million will be provided by three banks, the Sberbank, Gazprombank and Eurasian Development Bank (EDB). This section of the ring road lies to the north of the city and measures 105.3km long. The loan for the PPP toll road will be for a 16-year period with the building work being carried out by the Road Construction Corporation. Work is due to commence in 2017 on the new Cavite-Laguna Expressway in the Philippines. This 47km route will run along the coast to the south of capital Manila, with its north eastern end lying close to the city’s international airport. The route connects Cavitex in Cavite's Kawit with the SLEx-Mamplasan Interchange in Laguna's Biñan. The project will improve connections to the airport as well as from Manila to the southern end of Luzon.
Work will start next month on a 24km section of Bulgaria’s controversial Struma Highway, part of the the Pan-European Corridor IV.
Corridor IV runs from Dresden in Germany to Istanbul in western Turkey.
