Construction starts on Yichang section of China’s Yichang-Yueyang expressway
Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).

Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
In China work is commencing on the Mulei-Wutongdaquan highway. The work will be carried out in China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and is costing close to US$2.6 billion. The highway will feature four lanes, with two in either direction and will measure 515km long. The project will form the last section of the Beijing-Urumqi Expressway to be completed.
Shiyan City in China’s Hubei Province has seen a major increase in its road and highway network, due to significant spending on road construction in the area. Between 2011 and 2015, the total length of the road network in Shiyan City increased to 26,989km, following spending of some US$7.07 billion on road construction by the authorities. The network expansion programme also included building four highways, with a total length of 522km while the rural road network grew by 7,425km in all. The development of
Spanish contractor Grupo Rubau has won a €120 million deal for construction of a 19.4km section of the S-61 motorway in Poland.
Work on the stretch connecting Ostrow Mazowiecka and Szczuczyn will be finished in 31 months.
